Biography

Mohamed Amir Elsamahy is an emerging Egyptian leader in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, climate policy, and data-driven development, with a strong focus on designing innovative, evidence-based solutions for sustainability and public governance.

He currently serves as the Executive Director of EMAM Organization for Development and Culture – Cairo Branch, where he leads strategic programs in community development, youth empowerment, and digital transformation.

Mohamed is also an AI Expert in Climate Change within the Expert Committee of Expertise France, contributing to the strategic design of climate innovation programs, startup selection, and the development of support mechanisms that integrate artificial intelligence into climate adaptation and mitigation efforts across the region.

He previously worked as a Data Scientist Intern at the Egyptian Cabinet – Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), where he gained hands-on experience in data mining, statistical modeling, and policy-oriented analytics. In addition, he has delivered professional training in public relations, communication strategy, and sustainable development, and holds a TOT in Sustainable Development from the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development.

Mohamed is pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Statistics with a minor in Economics at Cairo University – Faculty of Economics and Political Science (2022 – Present). His academic work includes projects on e-government modernization, relational database design (World Cup Database), and the application of AI, IoT, and data systems to public service delivery.

He has served as Vice President of the Simulation Model of British House of Commons (2023-2024), managing team projects and facilitating discussions to simulate legislative processes, and as Vice Head of HR Committee in the Simulation Model of International Organization for Migration (2023-2024).

As the founder of the Climate Rangers Initiative (2024 – Present), he leads a youth-focused climate diplomacy program that equips young people with the knowledge and tools to engage effectively with decision-makers. He also established the Virtual Statistics Lab (VSL) (2024 – Present) — a pioneering student-led initiative that introduces students to the practical applications of statistics, data science, and AI through hands-on training, in collaboration with DataCamp.

Native/Bilingual in Arabic, Proficient in English, with conversational German, Mohamed is dedicated to advancing the integration of AI, climate intelligence, and evidence-based policy to build resilient, sustainable, and future-oriented communities in Egypt and the wider Global South.
